MFHCO

Credible, respectable and knowledgeable. A thorough knowledge
of the issues facing the rental housing industry is absolutely necessary
to properly represent the membership. Consistency is an effective tool
of the full-time staff that provides aggressive, accurate and reliable
legislative representation for the industry that is respected throughout
Oregon.
Statewide representation. The organization has a broad representation
and knowledge of legislated activities. This knowledge is important
because what occurs in one city or county will ultimately affect every
rental housing owner, investor or manager in the state.
Regular Communication

All members receive the Multifamily Housing Council of
Oregon's "Hot News" a monthly publication packed with informative
articles relevant to the rental industry, legislative updates and information
on statewide meetings.
Aggressive
Representation

Over-regulation and often confusing legislation can be both a detriment
to a sound rental investment as well as an impediment to the effective
and efficient management of rental housing. The goal of the Multifamily
Housing Council of Oregon is to develop and maintain a political and economic
environment that allows rental property owners and investors to earn a
reasonable return on their investment.
The Multifamily Housing Council of Oregon was established in 1979 by a
group of individuals who had a vision regarding the rights and responsibilities
of rental housing providers throughout the state.
Representation of rental housing issues before the various levels of government
is the one primary function of the organization. The Multifamily Housing
Council of Oregon has, for many years, been effective in sponsoring legislation
as well as advocating for the rights of the industry.

The "Landlord &
Tenant Hotline"

Experienced property managers provide non-legal business assistance
regarding rental-housing issues. staff the Multifamily Housing Council
of Oregon "Hot Line". By calling the MFHCO "Hot Line,
the goal is to provide information and guidance in the hope that cases
will be solved before going to court. We work to help you in solve
difficult problems and provide you working solutions. If we don't
know the answer, we'll find it out for you, before you have to expend
money for legal assistance.
Management Forms
To avoid potential problems that could result in a loss of revenue
and expensive legal fees, the Multifamily Housing Council of Oregon
has developed numerous management forms that are continually updated.
These forms assist you and your staff to be in compliance with legislative
changes and court requirements.
Contracts, addendums and notices necessary for the successful management
of single, multifamily or facility (park) operations are available -
discounted to members. The MFHCO logo and forms are recognized by many
of the judges in the state making your job easier.
Education

On-going changes in rental housing operations and management require
information to be exchanged at a rapid pace. Education and training
is one of the primary service goals of the Multifamily Housing Council
of Oregon - helping members to be better informed and, therefore, more
profitable in the rental industry.
The Multifamily Housing Council of Oregon publishes a series of training
manuals dedicated to providing the rental industry with information
that is easy to understand and use as well as applicable to Oregon operations.
Training classes are available at various locations around the state
making education easy to obtain and cost-effective.
The goal is similar to the old saying, "give a man a fish and feed
him for a day or teach him how to fish and he eats for a lifetime"
our
goal is to teach you how to do it right instead of teaching you enough
to cause you to hire the instructor or the attorney teaching the class.
Vendors and
Service Suppliers

Connections - while the services of Multifamily Housing
Council of Oregon are primarily directed to rental property owners and
managers, the membership utilizes a multitude of services and products.
We welcome associate members to the organization. Our goal is to match
the needs of the members with the providers of services to the industry.
We encourage associate members to attend monthly meetings and communicate
their services through the Multifamily Hot News publication. You do
it, have it, make it, provide it ---they need it - we'll match you up.
